Glen Stephen, Rosa & Terri |
Glen was born and raised in Kenya and
educated in Scotland. The family moved to South Africa in 1972 where
Glen completed a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies and a teaching
diploma. He taught English and Drama in Eshowe and also at St
Andrew’s College, Grahamstown. In 1986 he went abroad –
ostensibly for a year – and stayed for 14, studying English as a
Foreign Language in London and going on to teach English for Special
Purposes to executives in the UK and Spain. He then ran the Teacher
Training and Adult Learner division of a private company in
Canterbury, designing cutting edge training courses in humanistic
learning and running workshops for teachers in countries from
Switzerland to Siberia. In 2000, after receiving his MA in Education
and International Development, the lure of Africa brought Glen to
Botswana where he worked at a teacher training college near
Francistown before settling in Maun in 2003. He now runs a travel
agency called Liquid Giraffe and is currently working through
practitioner training in Tellington Touch for horses. He is often on
the stage of Motsana and the photo result combines his passion for
the theatre and his love for horses and dogs. Rosa – a Maun icon
herself - is on the left and Terri (a relative newcomer to Maun) on
the right.
